Christmas DJ!

December 21 2012   Ι   Author: Comments Off

Well done to 15 year old Georgia Farr from Oakham who won this year’s chance to co-host the Rutland Radio breakfast show which we ran in conjunction with Roberts Radio.  We had all the radios in the shop tuned to Rutland Radio to hear her and she did a great job of co-hosting the show this morning with Rob. As well as the opportunity to co-host the show, we also presented her with a Roberts Radio as a prize.

Well done Georgia from all the team here at Knights.

Digital Drop In Day

Rutland goes digital next month.  The team here at Knights of Oakham will be holding a digital drop in day on Wednesday 6th July where all the team will be on hand to give information and answer any questions you might have about the digital switchover. Please pop in and see us!

And don’t forget, if you buy a new TV from Knights of Oakham the service team will deliver for free within 24 hours of purchase as well as disposing of your old TV if needed, This is a service we offer on all large appliances, all year round! We are also offering retuning packages in August too.

What does going Digital mean?

The existing analogue TV signal will be switched off and replaced by a new stronger digital signal. It means that almost everyone will be able to receive digital TV through an aerial (Freeview).

What are the benefits?

Digital TV offers new ways to enjoy your TV, primarily a greater choice of TV channels. Households are able to received on average 40 TV channels for free with digital TV.

How will the switchover affect me?

Most of Rutland is served by the Waltham transmitter which is switching over in 2 stages on 17th August 2011 and 31st August 2011.

On 17th August, BBC channels will be switched off and you will need to return your digital equipment to pick up the available channels. On 31st August the remaining analogue channels are switched off and you will need to retune your digital equipment again to pick up additional channels. To keep your TV service you will need to convert your TV to a digital TV before this date.
